Last week we went to Bremen to the opening of the exhibition "Inside The City": a collaboration of GAK Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst, Künstlerhaus Bremen and Centre for Artists' Publications.
"Inside The City" is a "network of art" that can be seen on different locations, in- and outdoors, across Bremen. The artworks and interventions can not only be seen in institutional spaces also on walls, along the waterside or on a construction side. The unexpected mix of work triggers the viewer to look at situations and encounters in a multi-dimensional way.
A huge increase of security, privatization and commercialization, but also the use of social media, Google maps and algorithms in particular, have fundamentally changed how we behave and react in public spaces or deal with feelings and emotions. Whether they are real or virtual, false or true, nowadays it is hard to distinguish one solid explanation for what we see or feel. It simply depends on what "world" one is part of, or how one approaches any subject or situation.
For further information do check the website of the exhibition which will last until October 11th, 2015.
We are happy to share some of the pictures we took during the opening of the artworks:
