Where does sustainable development stand in the fashion industry?
Should the focus lay on bio-cotton or recycled polyester, should we consume less or differently, have we passed the stage of "green-washing" or are we laying the bases for fairer and durable production. All questions that cross our minds while evaluating how sustainable we are?
In a presentation of "the Past, Present and Future of Sustainability", Kentroy Yearwood outlines sustainability. Should it go beyond the "and / or" stage ... It is all about adapting to a new mindset that ultimately should result in a system shift in consuming, producing and a qualitative approach to economics. The presentation stretches from managing the process of change, the deeper meaning that lays behind sustainability, but most importantly he will be showcasing a wide range of fabrics, color dyeings and finishings.
On May 8th we have a Dutch presentation starting at 1 pm and one in English at 3.30pm.
