As the months are slowly turning colder, the uncomfortable truth is ahead of us, Winter is coming. We will all spend a bit more time at home, and what better way to spend those days creating things? In the process, this really nice Scandinavian interior design and DIY book called OK – Omin Käsin, could help a hand.
Written by Finnish stylist Susanna Vento and photographed by Riikka Kantinkoski, the book is a playful book with interior design projects and minimalist modern ideas. The clear instructions make the book appropriate for beginners as well as for the more experienced hand.
Now, my Finnish is a bit rusty, but I found out that; OK. omin käsin: means ‘with your own hands.’ Even though the book is in Finnish (an English translation will be available soon) the Finnish edition can still keep you busy for hours; the pictures just speak for themselves. The book will inspire all the do-it-yourself people with their beautiful images, fresh ideas and nice graphic design, as it’s full of inspirational DIY instructions that fascinates with their colour world as well as the graphic style. You can learn how to make a minimalistic coatrack, a concrete candlestick or even a handmade children’s tipi tent.
