Christina and her husband Eusebio Saenz de Santamaria aka, One ocean One breath, explore the oceans of the world, diving deep down on only one breath.
The couple recently also freedived into the Cenotes of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. The Cenotes of the Yucatan are deeply connected to the enigmatic Mayan civilization and in their mythology considered as portals to the underworld.
By freediving the Cenotes, Christina and her husband wanted to convey this mystical and otherworldly experience through their underwater images, and by using a Nikon D7000, some natural light, and a strong set of lungs, the two literally captured their “breathtaking” adventure.
The images from this particular trip reveal the unbelievable beauty of the natural underground reservoir, and also show how close we actually are to nature.
