THE OLD-TIME PICNIC STICK GETS A NEW LOOK

Alright, this might not be the perfect time to be posting about a sweet new picnic concept, but I couldn't resist this super awesome modern version of the knapsack made by the Dutch Jody Kocken…

Surprisingly there aren’t more modern designs on the market like Urban Picnic, but now, the iconic picnic stick that had been used by the old-time vagabonds and had been popular in movies and cartoons, has now for the first time been revamped for the urban scout market.

The stick nicely combines the bindle with a bento box concept. A series of stackable containers fit perfectly into the leather tote, which also doubles as a fabric platter to eat off. The stick itself is made out of wood and has been ergonomically shaped to rest on the shoulder comfortably. Nostalgic, imaginative and sophisticated, come summer, the Urban Picnic will surely be picked up by the mainstream.
