Frustrated of the incommodious data transfer between computers and mobile devices the Spanish designer Ishac Bertran developed an ingenious UI-design, which could make Drag’n’Drop between devices the children’s game.
According to concept the user holds his smartphones near by a computer. Thereupon a half circle on the screens of both devices, which appears by the physical connection as whole circle, appears. This full moon-well-behaved circle signals to the user that the devices are connected now and the transfer can begin. Now a simple Drag’n’Drop is enough, in order to shift a file of equipment on the other one.
This obviously isn't for the mass offloading of files (you'd be holding your hand up for what would seem like an eternity), but rather for a quick bit of info—a photo, a map, a song.
It's elegant, simple, and most of all, has visual cues which are actually helpful.
