Award-winning filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg casts his talented cinematic eye on the world of Pollination. The footage is taken from his film Wings of Life, which centers around the alarming global population crash of the honeybee. One of the most important processes to the sustenance of life on Earth, pollination still remains largely unseen by the human eye. But cinematographer Schwartzberg, who uses high-speed cameras to capture his footage, sheds new light on the detailed intricacy of pollination, reminding us how important natural preservation is to our existence.

TED starts playing the footage around the 3:15 mark, so just stay patient — it’s well worth the wait.

Schwartzberg's on gratitude:
