For this Autumn/Winter 2012-13 collection, Marc Jacobs, transforms his runway into a fairy tale land with the help of artist and friend, Rachel Feinstein. The collection hints inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins, and Dr. Seuss, with models adorning enormous hats courtesy of milliner Stephen Jones. Every fabric and texturewas used, from mohair to velvet to knitwear. The silhouettes stayed consistent throughout the collection – cinched at the waist above a large hourglass bell shape. As the models came down the runway, Lionel Bart’s ‘Who Will Buy’ from Oliver played in the background, perhaps challenging the fashion world with such an extreme collection this season.
