WOMEN LEADING IN HUMANIZING ROBOTS

At the center of the push for more "socially aware" robots is a group of women leading the charge. Andrea Thomaz (Interactive Computing) is certainly one of them, and the goal for her robot, Simon, is for it to learn from people through regular human interactions, rather than programming.

A shift toward "socially aware machines" has drawn women to robotics.
