NOW THIS IS A COOL VOTING CAMPAIGN, ROCK THE VOTE BY APARTMENT ONE

Politics are not everyone’s slice of pie, but the fact is, whatever side you’re on, if you have the right, you should get out there and vote.

Based in (the ever creative) Brooklyn, Apartment One teamed up with Rock the Vote and Simon Issacs to design and implement a non-partisan campaign urging the budding generation to do just that.

The result is both commanding and thoughtful. The color palette, or lack thereof, is dead on. Black and white work perfectly here on a couple of levels. First, it allows the components to stay neutral and not feel “political.” Also, the straightforward design lets the message be the star. The copy is punchy and attention-grabbing, the photography is energetic and full of life and the typography is bold and impactful. While hand-drawn elements can often feel gratuitous, these elements enhance the type through minimal and intentional use.

These are the cool type of campaigns and this one definitely looks positive and empowering in nature, which is a breath of fresh air during the often negative election sphere.

Hope America will have a good vote on November 6th.

We often get the request of where to shop in our city. This is not an easy question, because we could never make you part of the true feeling of being an “Amster- dammer”. Imagine: ... being on your bike, hopping from one end to other parts of town, having a coffee or a drink, enjoying the beauty of the city, saying “hi” to friends ... In short, we love Amsterdam, which is not easy to translate in words, when you’re not a poet.
On the other hand addresses change, pop-up stores come and go, so we can never be accurate in providing the right maps all the time.
We finally found a solution and created a set-up giving an overview of the most important areas of the city, describing the “feel of the barrio”.
We are suggesting some shops, pointing out local brands and stores etc. Are interested? Do click in the image for further information.
