Our “internet time” is now also manifesting itself in “public time.” The line between intimacy and being out in the open is getting blurry and artists now find creative ways to go at this.
London artist Monica Bonvicini is the mastermind behind ‘Don’t Miss A Sec’. The piece is a public restroom placed just like that, in the middle of a busy sidewalk, but emplaced between a bunch of 1-way mirrors. Hence, the “user” can enjoy the view of the active city while being on the toilet. Just be sure to not go up to those mirrors to fix your clothes or make-up, you never know who could be inside, watching. Oooooh.
