One of the things I really enjoy about these modern times, is how traditional craftsmanship and small shops are starting to be able to co-exist beside the mainstream chains of today again. It is amazing to see how people in multiple cities manage to add a modern twist to old fashioned traditions and translate them into modern life. One of the those examples is a small shop in Stockholm, at Nytorgsgatan 38, that is producing candy all by hand and all with deep love and understanding for the elaborated procedure.
One of the employees Leyli had many different jobs before, but today she is a candymaker. In the shop, called Pärlans, she and her friends make candy based on a recipe from the 30s and 40s, concentrating rather on quality than quantity. In the video below we can see the delicious candy and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, check it out!
