Combining sculpture, architecture and design, a Portuguese designer Gabriela Gomes has created a compact habitable module that has been titled Shelter ByGG. The red cloud-looking structure contains a double room with integrated WC, assuring the comfort and privacy for its guests. It doesn’t require any infrastructure and could be easily installed in any empty public space, inviting everyone to rest inside the sculpture.
The authors of the project paid a lot of attention to its sustainability, so the structure is mainly made of non-polluting and recycled materials like cork and topped with solar panels that meet the module’s demand for electric energy.
Shelter ByGG was recently presented and installed for the first time at Guimarães 2012 festival. Now it is available for booking on the project’s website for 100 € per night for two people.
